EV Charging Pilot
Our first charging point is going live in East Lothian in March 2024. If you are a BT employee and would like to test for free, please sign up below.
We’re powering up the first EV charging unit repurposing a street cabinet traditionally used to store broadband and phone cabling. This marks the first step in the rollout of new technical trials, exploring the potential to upgrade up to 60,000 cabinets to tackle the current national shortfall in EV charging infrastructure.
With the extensive infrastructure already in place, BT is uniquely positioned to offer affordable and convenient EV charging across the UK.
- You hold a full UK driving licence.
- Are a current BT Group employee.
- You live in the local area.
- The Electric Vehicle must have a type 2 plug.
- You have your own charging cable.
